Joseph Lewis Vehon, age 78, passed away on October 21, 2026.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on March 1, 1948—fittingly during a leap year—Joe spent his early childhood in Indiana before moving to Arizona at the age of 7.
At 18 he enlisted in the United States Navy. He spent the majority of his military service aboard the aircraft carrier USS America during the Vietnam War.
A couple of years following his honorable service, Joe met the love of his life, Molly. Together, they built a beautiful life, started a family, and established a remarkable legacy of commitment. Joe dedicated an extraordinary 50 years of his life to his career as a mailman, faithfully serving his community out of the very same post office until his well-earned retirement.
Known to all as a fiercely hardworking, deeply caring, loving, and entirely selfless man, Joe poured his heart into his family and his daily life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Molly; his children, Julie, Joey, and Torie (and her husband, Lawrence); and his cherished grandson, Christopher. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will mourn his passing and forever hold his memory close.
