Dayna Lorraine Thompson, 53, San Tan Valley, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, from complications related to cancer in the company of her family in Gilbert, Arizona.

Dayna was born April 15, 1963, in Lancaster, California. She lived much of her life in Arizona, graduating from Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona in 1981. She was a longtime employee of Intel Corporation in Chandler, Arizona.

Dayna Thompson possessed a warm and comforting presence. Her benevolent nature, lead many good people to gather around her and created a web of love and caring. We'll all carry her spirit with us as we continue sharing that love with one another that she shared with us.

Dayna loved and cherished her family and friends more than anything.  She was an incredible mother of two sons, and grandmother to grandson Brock, who she adored. She wore the title of "Grandma" so proudly.

She is survived by her son Timothy (Melissa) Thompson, Gilbert, AZ; son Trevor Thompson, Queen Creek; brother Darin (Theresa) Johnson, San Tan Valley; sister Erin Townsend; step-parents Reggie (Dorothy) Townsend, Apache Junction; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by mother Linda Townsend.

A celebration of life in Dayna's honor will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142.

In lieu of cards or flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to  Hospice of Arizona.
